Gore-House Chainwalker is a 2/2 unleash creature for two mana — solid stats if you skip the +1/+1 counter and accept no blocking, mediocre if you don't. Aggressive red decks want the 3/3 body; anything else can find a better two-drop.

Gore-House Chainwalker sees essentially no Commander play — a vanilla-adjacent two-drop with no enters-the-battlefield effect, no utility, and no synergy ceiling has nothing to offer a 100-card singleton format. In Pauper it competes in aggressive red strategies where the unleash 3/3 is a real clock, but even there it gets edged out by two-drops with more text. Modern and Pioneer have long since passed it by — the bar for a two-mana creature in those formats is far higher than a conditional 3/3 with a downside. Legacy and Vintage don't acknowledge it exists.

Price Context
Current price
$0.04 bulk tier
Gore-House Chainwalker is deep bulk at $0.04, and there's no reason to expect that to change. Pick it up as a Pauper aggro filler without a second thought — just don't expect it to appreciate.
