In Commander, Golden Egg is strictly a synergy card — artifact-matters, food-matters, or sacrifice-value commanders justify it; generic lists should skip it for faster ramp. In Pauper it sees occasional play in artifact combo shells where cheap sacrificeable artifacts with built-in draw matter more than raw power.
