Godsend turns any equipped creature into a removal engine that also permanently erases anything it trades with — blockers die and get exiled, attackers die and get exiled, and opponents can't even copy or search for the lost pieces. The three-mana equip cost is the ceiling; the card earns its slot in any white deck that attacks regularly.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Godsend does its best work — repeated combat over a long game means the exile clause fires often, and white's historically thin permanent removal makes every extra exile effect meaningful. In 1v1 formats like Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer, Godsend is three mana to equip onto a creature that may never survive to attack, which makes it too slow against anything proactive; the payoff requires a board state that those formats punish you for assuming you'll have. Oathbreaker sits closer to Commander on the speed dial, so the card is at least functional there, but the 20-life clock compresses games enough that you rarely get multiple combat steps to justify the investment.

Price Context
Current price
$2.17 cheap tier
At $2.17, Godsend sits firmly in the bulk-rare tier — cheap enough to pick up without a second thought for any white equipment or voltron build. It's not a card that spikes; supply is healthy and casual demand is steady, so expect the price to stay flat.
