Goblin Skycutter trades itself to deal 2 damage to a flying creature — a narrow, one-shot effect stapled to a 1/1 body that dies to a stiff breeze. The cost is real: you're spending a card and a mana activation to answer a single flier, which is a bad rate in any format with better removal options.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |

Goblin Skycutter sees essentially no competitive play anywhere it's legal. In Commander, tribal Goblin decks are the only home that could plausibly run it, and even there Goblin Skycutter is outclassed by removal that doesn't require sacrificing the creature. In Pauper, where commons matter and flying creatures dominate aggressive mirrors, there's a theoretical niche, but dedicated anti-flier spells at common do the job without costing you a body. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a 1/1 with a conditional activated ability.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Goblin Skycutter is deep bulk — the kind of card that fills a dollar box and rarely leaves it. There's no demand driver here, so don't expect that to change.
