In Commander, Goblin Replica earns its slot almost exclusively in Goblin tribal decks where the creature type matters more than the effect — commanders like Krenko, Mob Boss or Zada, Hedron Grinder want bodies, and a 2/2 that can threaten an artifact in a pinch is better than a pure spell. Outside of tribal, artifact removal that costs you a creature and three mana is overcosted when Vandalblast and Generous Gift exist. In Pauper, the math is tighter and artifact hate matters more, but even there it competes with Smash to Smithereens for the slot. Legacy and Vintage have too much efficient interaction for Goblin Replica to see play outside of niche Goblin synergy shells.
