Goblin Patrol

In Commander, Goblin Patrol is a role-player in dedicated Goblin tribal lists that use sacrifice or token synergies to nullify the echo drawback — outside those shells, a one-mana 2/2 with a real downside doesn't pull enough weight in a 100-card, four-player format. In Legacy and Vintage, aggressive red strategies have moved well past echo creatures; Goblin Patrol competed in an earlier era of the format but has been outclassed by every subsequent one-drop red Goblin printed since. Pauper is where Goblin Patrol is most plausible — the common format is starved for efficient early attackers, and a deck engineered to blank the echo cost could make it work, though better options still exist at the slot.
