Goblin Flectomancer lets you sacrifice it to retarget any instant or sorcery mid-resolution — a one-shot redirect stapled to a 2/2 body in Izzet colors. It's a niche tool with a real ceiling in spell-heavy pods, but the sacrifice cost means you spend a creature to get one redirection, which limits it to decks that can recur or replace it cheaply.

In Commander, Goblin Flectomancer earns its slot in Izzet spellslinger builds that want reactive disruption — redirecting a Swords to Plowshares or a Chaos Warp away from your key piece is worth the body. Outside of Commander, it sees essentially no play: Legacy and Vintage have Willbender and other more efficient options at instant speed, and Modern spell-redirect strategies have largely moved past creature-based one-shots. Goblin Flectomancer is a Commander card through and through, and even there it's a role-player rather than a staple.

Price Context
Current price
$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Goblin Flectomancer is pure bulk — no financial risk to picking one up, and no expectation of appreciation given its narrow application. It holds that price floor simply because casual demand for the effect exists, not because any competitive format is driving it.
