Goblin Assault Team enters as a 1/1 that deals damage equal to its power to a player when it attacks — but its real job is dying: it has undying, so the first time it hits the graveyard without a +1/+1 counter, it comes back as a 2/2. Four mana for a recursive threat that swings twice and trades up on blocks is solid, but the ceiling only opens in decks that exploit death triggers or pump the token repeatedly.
Format Analysis

Goblin Assault Team is a Commander card first and foremost — the combination of undying and a damage-on-attack trigger maps cleanly onto Goblin aristocrats shells and Warhammer-style sacrifice loops that the format rewards. In Pauper it's theoretically legal but competes in a much tighter resource environment where four mana needs to close games, not grind value. Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy have enough efficient threats and interaction that Goblin Assault Team won't see play outside of casual brews. Treat it as a Commander-exclusive pickup.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Goblin Assault Team is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. Bulk undying creatures don't appreciate unless a new commander pushes the archetype into the spotlight, so buy a copy because the deck wants it, not because the price floor might move.
