Glistening Dawn card art
Glistening Dawn puts an oil counter on every creature you control — immediately enabling infect and proliferate synergies across your whole board for three mana. The sorcery speed and symmetry risk are real costs, but in a dedicated Phyrexian-themed shell the payoff is immediate and massive.

Commander is where Glistening Dawn belongs — token-wide oil-counter distribution is built for multiplayer boards, and Phyrexian tribal commanders like Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines or Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa turn every oil counter into a threat. In Legacy and Vintage the sorcery speed and three-mana cost make it uncompetitive against the format's interaction density. Modern and Pioneer are theoretically legal, but Glistening Dawn needs a critical mass of oil-counter payoffs that neither format's best shells are built around. Stick to Commander.

Price Context

Current price

$0.27 bulk tier

At $0.27, Glistening Dawn is deep bulk — you're paying nearly nothing for a card with real power in the right shell. Bulk rares this narrowly synergistic rarely spike without a dedicated deck archetype pushing them, so don't expect the price to move unless Phyrexian tribal becomes a breakout Commander strategy.
