Gladewalker Ritualist enters as any creature type you name, then taps to generate one mana of any color — but only if you control another creature sharing that type. The payoff is real in tribal shells, and the cost is nothing: this is a three-mana dork that doubles as a flexible tribal member.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Gladewalker Ritualist is a Commander card — full stop. Tribal strategies in that format have the density of same-type creatures to make the mana ability live on turn three and stay live through the game. In Modern and Pioneer, a three-mana creature that taps for one mana is simply too slow against the format's speed, and the tribal upside doesn't compensate when most competitive tribal decks aren't running it. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in this effect at any cost. Stick to Commander, where the Ritualist earns its slot in any dedicated tribal build that wants another body and a color-fixing mana rock stapled together.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Gladewalker Ritualist is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box or grab as a throw-in. That price is stable floor territory; there's no spike pressure on a three-mana tribal utility creature with a narrow home.
