Gigantoad puts a 3/3 body with deathtouch on the board for four mana — respectable in combat, irrelevant anywhere else. Outside of Grolnok, the Omnivore, where every Frog that hits the graveyard fuels cascade draws, this card doesn't pull its weight in a 99-card format.

Grolnok, the Omnivore
Grolnok, the Omnivore turns every Frog that dies — including Gigantoad — into a flipped card with a free-cast rider, so even a vanilla 3/3 deathtouch becomes a cantrip engine piece that threatens to develop your board for free.

Gigantoad is a Commander card, and a narrow one at that — it belongs specifically in Frog-tribal shells built around Grolnok, the Omnivore. In every other 60-card format, a four-mana 3/3 deathtouch without an enters-the-battlefield effect or relevant type line doesn't clear the bar; Modern and Pioneer have Gifted Aetherborn and Vampire of the Dire Moon doing similar work at half the cost. Pauper is the one place the rate is less embarrassing, but there's still no shell that wants it. Treat Gigantoad as a Grolnok roleplayer and nothing more.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Gigantoad is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box, not a card worth hunting down. Bulk frog tribal pieces don't appreciate unless a new synergy card pushes the archetype into mainstream play, so don't expect the price to move.
