Giant Scorpion is bulk in every format where better deathtouch creatures exist, and they do — Vampire of the Dire Moon, Foulmire Knight, and Oathsworn Vampire all do more for fewer mana in Legacy and Vintage. In Commander, Giant Scorpion occasionally appears in budget tribal builds under Skullbriar, the Walking Grave or similar black-green creature-count commanders, but it rarely survives the first upgrade pass. Pauper is its most defensible home, where the card pool is shallow enough that a three-mana deathtouch blocker at common can legitimately earn a slot in a slow defensive shell.
