Commander is where Ghoultree actually lives. Graveyard-centric strategies accumulate creature counts fast enough to make the cost reduction real, and a 10/10 for one mana is a legitimate threat in a multiplayer game where blocking is already stretched thin. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant — Ghoultree is too slow and too conditional against decks that win on turns one through three. Modern has enough graveyard density to theoretically cast it cheap, but a vanilla 10/10 with no evasion and no ETB effect doesn't compete with what that format's threats do for similar investment. Stick to Commander.
