Ghostform grants a creature unblockable and lifelink until end of turn for a single blue mana, making it a reliable combat trick for pushing through final points of damage or enabling combat-damage triggers. It's a one-shot spell with no lasting board presence, so you run it specifically to close a game or fire a trigger — not to build a board state.

In Commander, Ghostform earns its slot in decks that need one unblocked swing to win — Voltron commanders, infect builds, or any commander whose combat-damage trigger only needs to connect once. Pauper is where Ghostform sees its most consistent competitive use, slotting into tempo and combo shells that need cheap evasion to close games. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's outclassed by similar effects that trade up in power or permanence, so it rarely makes the cut outside of fringe applications. Oathbreaker shares the same logic as Commander — if your Planeswalker win condition depends on connecting attacks, Ghostform is a live card.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Ghostform is deep bulk — a throw-in card at any trade table or bulk bin. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move without an unexpected combo breakout, so there's no reason to stock up beyond what you actually need.
