Geth, Thane of Contracts turns every death trigger into a reanimate — creatures with mana costs equal to or less than their power come back under your control, which means recursive threats like Gravecrawler generate real card advantage every time they hit the graveyard. The cost is a five-mana 4/4 with no built-in protection, so if the table answers it quickly you've spent your turn doing nothing.

Commander is where Geth, Thane of Contracts does its best work — black sacrifice and recursion strategies generate exactly the high-power, low-cost creatures the ability wants, and the graveyard density in a 100-card format means there's rarely a shortage of targets. In Legacy and Vintage the card is technically legal but competes with a stack of faster, more efficient threats and sees essentially no play. Modern and Pioneer offer more casual shelf life, particularly in fringe reanimator builds, but the five-mana investment is hard to justify when those formats punish slow engines. Stick to Commander unless you're building something very specific.

Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Geth, Thane of Contracts sits firmly in bulk territory, which makes it an easy inclusion to test without budget risk. Bulk rares with combo upside tend to spike if they get renewed attention, but the price reflects current low demand — pick it up for the synergy, not as a financial hedge.
