Gemini Engine
Artifact Creature — Construct
Whenever this creature attacks, create a colorless Construct artifact creature token named Twin that's attacking. Its power is equal to this creature's power and its toughness is equal to this creature's toughness. Sacrifice the token at end of combat.

Gemini Engine enters the battlefield and immediately creates a Mirror Golem token that copies whatever it blocks or attacks with — a built-in doubling effect stapled to a six-mana artifact creature. The payoff is real in the right shell, but six mana for a 4/4 with no immediate protection is a steep ask in competitive Commander.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Gemini Engine is a Commander card through and through — the token-doubling effect scales with the power of your board, and the six-mana cost is easier to stomach in a format with 40 life and ramp spells. In Legacy and Vintage, it's technically legal but never played; six mana for a conditional effect can't compete in formats where games end on turn one or two. Oathbreaker gives it marginally more room to breathe if your planeswalker rewards artifact token generation, but it's still too slow for most pods. Commander is where Gemini Engine actually does its job.

Price Context
Current price
$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Gemini Engine is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a trade binder rather than order individually. The price reflects limited demand, so don't expect movement unless a Commander precon pushes artifact-token synergies into the spotlight.
