Gearshift Ace is a role-player in exactly one context: dedicated Vehicle decks. In Commander, that means pilots like Depala, Pilot Exemplar or Shorikai, Genesis Engine, where crewing happens every turn and Gearshift Ace can snowball into a serious threat. In Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too narrow — Vehicle synergy isn't consistent enough to make a two-mana 2/1 worth a slot when those formats demand higher baseline power. Legacy and Vintage won't touch it. If you're not building around Vehicles, Gearshift Ace has no home.
