Gaea's Protector is a 4/2 trample for four mana that gives another target creature trample until end of turn when it attacks — two bodies get through, one card spent. The rate is bad enough that it belongs only in dedicated trample-tribal or Timmy stompy builds where that redundancy actually matters.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Gaea's Protector is bulk in every format it's legal in. In Commander, the four-mana slot is brutally competitive and a 4/2 with a conditional pump does nothing to stabilize a board or close a game on its own. Pauper is the one format where common creature efficiency gets stretched thin enough that trample enablers see occasional consideration, but even there, better options exist at the same cost. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer won't touch it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Gaea's Protector is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a bulk bin and immediately put back. There is no price floor to fall through, and no realistic demand driver that would push it above common-filler territory.
