Frost Walker card art
Frost Walker is a 4/1 for two mana — one of the best stats-per-mana ratios in blue — but it sacrifices itself the moment it becomes the target of any spell or ability. That drawback is real enough to keep it out of most competitive shells, but in aggro builds that close games quickly it punches well above its cost.

Frost Walker sees the most play in aggressive Modern and Pioneer lists that want early pressure and can win before the liability matters — think mono-blue tempo strategies where opponents are on the back foot and can't afford to spend removal on a 4/1 anyway. In Legacy, it competes with a deeper pool of two-drop threats and rarely makes the cut. Commander is its worst format: multiplayer games go long, opponents have abundant targeting effects, and a creature that dies to its own Aura or a teammate's Thornbite Staff trigger is a liability you can't afford in a 100-card singleton build. If Frost Walker is in your Commander deck, it needs a specific synergy reason — otherwise it's a liability waiting to happen.

No price data is available for Frost Walker at this time. It's a bulk rare by historical market behavior — a card with a meaningful deckbuilding restriction rarely commands a premium — so you should expect to pick it up for well under a dollar in nearly any single-card purchase.
