Commander is where Forger's Foundry actually lives — 100-card decks built around spellslinger or reanimator loops have enough density and enough turns to make repeated looting worthwhile. Legacy and Vintage permit it, but the two-mana activation is a significant ask against the raw card-selection available in those formats, and it won't see competitive play there.
