Foresight costs one blue mana and lets you name three cards, then your opponent searches your library and removes any copies — netting you exactly nothing while giving your opponent perfect information about your hand and deck. It is not a playable card; it is a trap for new players who read "search your library" and stop there.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Foresight is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but legality is not endorsement. In every format where it's legal, Foresight is unplayed for the same reason: a one-mana sorcery that removes up to three of your own cards from your library while revealing your hand to an opponent has no realistic use case. No combo line requires it, no engine benefits from thinning specific cards under opponent control, and the information handed to the table is a pure liability in Commander's multiplayer threat assessment. Bulk rare status in Pauper says everything.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Foresight sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects its actual utility. Don't expect it to move — there is no emerging archetype that rehabilitates a card this structurally broken.
