Flamecore Elemental is a bulk filler card in every format where it's legal, and that's a generous description. In Commander, a 5/4 with an attack restriction at five mana competes against creatures that generate value on entry, enable combos, or close games — Flamecore Elemental does none of those things. Pauper is the one context where raw stats matter more and card pools are thin, but even there the drawback is punishing in any shell that can't guarantee a red creature to accompany it. In Legacy or Vintage it doesn't register.
