Fix What's Broken card art
Fix What's Broken destroys a creature and gains you life equal to its toughness — a two-for-one on a single card that pulls double duty in any lifegain shell. At three mana in black-white, it's efficient enough to run alongside premium removal, and Amalia Benavides Aguirre decks want every lifegain trigger they can get.

Amalia Benavides Aguirre's engine fires on every lifegain trigger, so Fix What's Broken does two jobs at once: it clears a blocker and advances the loop, making it one of the cleaner utility pieces in the 99.

Fix What's Broken is legal across every major constructed format but has found its real home in Commander, where the lifegain trigger matters more than the speed of the removal. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, three mana is too slow for unconditional creature removal when Fatal Push and March of Otherworldly Light exist, so it won't see serious play there. In Commander, the lifegain rider is a genuine incentive for Orzhov lifegain decks — the floor is still a removal spell, and the ceiling is a combo enabler. Oathbreaker follows the same logic: playable in a dedicated lifegain shell, redundant elsewhere.

$0.35 bulk tier

At $0.35, Fix What's Broken sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to pick up and easy to cut without regret. Bulk enchantments in narrow archetypes rarely climb unless the archetype spikes in popularity, so treat this as a functional role-player rather than a hold.
