Fit of Rage gives a creature +3/+3 and first strike until end of turn for one red mana — a respectable stat bump, but it's a one-shot aura sorcery that disappears at end of turn and leaves no permanent board presence. In a format where tempo and card advantage define games, a cantrip or permanent pump almost always does more work.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Fit of Rage is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker. In Pauper, where common-legal aggressive strategies are most common, it can serve a narrow role in red go-wide or voltron shells that need a cheap combat trick to push through or win a race. In Commander, the card is too low-impact for a 100-card singleton format — temporary +3/+3 doesn't move the needle in a multiplayer game where opponents have shields up. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient pump and cantrips, so Fit of Rage doesn't see competitive play there.

$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Fit of Rage is pure bulk — you're paying for the cardboard, not the effect. There's no financial reason to hesitate on picking one up, but the price accurately reflects its power level and demand.
