In Commander, Fervent Strike is a fringe inclusion — one-shot pump spells rarely survive the card-quality bar when you're competing with 99-card consistency and multiplayer board states. It finds a real home in Pauper and aggressive Legacy or Pioneer shells where cheap, instant-speed haste enablers can create surprise lethal on a stalled board. Modern and Vintage have enough redundancy in the aggressive-creature space that Fervent Strike sits on the outside looking in. Oathbreaker is the most plausible Commander-adjacent home, where lower life totals make single-target pump spells matter more.
