Feroz's Ban shuts down all creature casting from both sides of the table — a symmetrical lock piece that's only worth running when you're built to ignore it. Six mana for a do-nothing-unless-abused artifact is a steep ask, and unlike most stax pieces, it punishes you equally if your gameplan involves creatures.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|

| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Feroz's Ban is a Commander card through and through — the format's multiplayer politics and combo-heavy metagame give a global creature lock actual teeth, especially in artifact-based or spellslinger builds that don't need to cast creatures to win. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; six mana for a symmetrical effect is unplayable in formats where the game is often decided by turn three. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's DNA that the same logic applies — viable only in the right shell, ignored everywhere else.

Price Context
Current price
$0.40 bulk tier
At $0.40, Feroz's Ban is deep bulk — a niche stax piece that sees little demand outside very specific Commander builds. The price is stable because the ceiling is low; this isn't a card that spikes.
