Feral Thallid is a 5/4 trampler for seven mana that self-regenerates by eating Saproling tokens — powerful on board, brutally expensive to cast. The cost is the deal-breaker outside dedicated token-farming shells; if you're not generating Saprolings in volume, there are better seven-drops.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Feral Thallid belongs exclusively in Saproling-tribal or Thallid-focused decks where token production is constant enough to feed its regeneration engine — outside that context, seven mana for a vanilla-ish creature doesn't compete. In Pauper, the common slot is fiercely contested and Feral Thallid doesn't clear the bar; the format moves too fast for a seven-mana creature that needs infrastructure to function. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters — Feral Thallid has no business in formats where the curve peaks at two or three. The card lives and dies in casual Commander pods built around Ghave, Slimefoot, or similar fungus/token commanders where the Saproling ecosystem is already humming.

$0.24 bulk tier
At $0.24, Feral Thallid is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. It won't hold or gain value, but if the Thallid tribal deck calls for it, the price is no obstacle.
