Fen Hauler

In Commander, Fen Hauler is a fringe inclusion — the can't-be-countered clause matters in counterspell-heavy pods, but seven mana for a 5/5 with menace is well below the rate you need to justify that slot. Pauper is where Fen Hauler sees its most credible play, since the common card pool makes a menace body with built-in counter-protection more relevant and the cycling cost is a real resource. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer the card is legal but essentially invisible — the rate is uncompetitive at every point on the curve where it would matter. Vintage follows the same logic: redundancy and power level make Fen Hauler irrelevant outside very narrow scenarios.
