Fear of Abduction enters as a 3/3 that immediately exiles a nonland permanent an opponent controls until it dies — a removal spell stapled to a body. Five mana is the honest cost for that package, and in Commander it's a fair rate.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Fear of Abduction is at its best in Commander, where exile-based removal that leaves a body behind does real work against the format's parade of indestructible threats and graveyard loops. In 1v1 formats like Modern and Pioneer, five mana for a 3/3 tempo play is too slow against the field — it exists there, but it won't see serious play. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in it. Standard is the one other format where it can pull weight, trading at a reasonable rate on curve against midrange permanents.
