Fathom Feeder is a mill engine that doubles as a mana sink — its ingest ability chips away at libraries while the activated ability trades mana for cards exiled from opponents' decks. The ceiling is high if you pair it with Mind Over Matter, which turns drawn cards into untap fuel for a loop that can exile entire libraries, but without that combo the card is slow and easy to ignore.

Commander is the natural home for Fathom Feeder — 100-card libraries and multiplayer tables make the mill payoff meaningful, and the format's slower pace gives you time to set up the Mind Over Matter loop. Outside Commander, Fathom Feeder barely registers: Legacy, Vintage, and Modern all have faster, more resilient threats, and a 1/1 deathtouch that requires mana investment every step of the way cannot compete. Pioneer offers the most plausible fringe case if a dedicated ingest or exile-matters shell exists, but no such shell has proven competitive.
