Farfinder is a 3-mana 1/1 that fetches any basic land to hand — functional ramp, but the weakest version of it. Pay one more mana and get a permanent on the battlefield with Burnished Hart, or pay one less and grab two basics with Cultivate; Farfinder splits the difference badly in both directions.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Farfinder occupies the bottom tier of ramp — it's castable at three mana, but a 1/1 body that replaces itself with a basic land in hand (not on the battlefield) is behind the curve when Rampant Growth and Sakura-Tribe Elder exist at the same cost or cheaper. Pauper is the one format where Farfinder earns real consideration, since the card pool for cheap ramp is narrower and a creature-type body can matter for synergy builds. In Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage, the card simply doesn't compete — those formats have no room for three-mana do-nothings when fetch lands and one-mana accelerants set the pace.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Farfinder is pure bulk — you're not paying a premium, but you're also not getting much for it. The price is stable because demand is low; better ramp options at similar or lower price points mean this card has no reason to climb.
