Faith's Shield saves a permanent or a player from any single threat — destruction, exile, damage, or targeting — for a single white mana, and at threshold it blankets your entire team at once. One mana, instant speed, wide coverage: it punches well above its casting cost.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Faith's Shield earns its slot as a reactive one-drop that answers almost anything — a spot removal spell, a board wipe's damage clause, a combo-disrupting exile effect — and the threshold mode occasionally wins a game outright by making your whole board untargetable or protection-shielded through a wrath. Legacy and Vintage have faster, more redundant ways to protect pieces, so Faith's Shield sits on the fringe there, mostly outclassed by Swords to Plowshares effects demanding the same slot. Modern lists running white protection suites can use it, but the format's speed means the threshold condition is rarely consistent enough to plan around. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander's use case closely — single-target protection on a one-drop is always welcome when your planeswalker is the kill target.

Price Context
Current price
$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Faith's Shield is firmly bulk — a no-friction pickup you'll find in any dollar box or throw into a cart without thinking about it. Bulk white utility instants rarely spike, so expect the price to stay flat unless a prominent deck showcases the threshold mode in a high-profile game.
