Faerie Duelist enters the battlefield and immediately shrinks a blocker or attacker by -2/-0, which can swing combat math on the spot — and it does this on two mana with flash and flying. A tempo piece that pulls double duty as a body, it's good enough for flash-matters or Faerie tribal shells but too narrow and low-impact for generic Commander lists.

Faerie Duelist is a Pauper-playable flash creature that sees scattered use in Faerie tribal lists, where its enters-the-battlefield debuff and on-curve body contribute to the archetype's tempo gameplan. In Commander, it's too small to matter at 100-card tables unless the deck is specifically built around Faeries or enter-the-battlefield triggers with Alela, Artful Provocateur or similar. Modern, Legacy, and Vintage have far better options at the same slot, so it doesn't compete there outside of budget builds. Pauper is the format where Faerie Duelist actually earns its seat.
