Etched Slith is a colorless 1/1 that becomes a serious threat the moment it connects — unblocked hits stack +1/+1 counters permanently, and protection from colored creatures makes blocking it harder than it looks. The payoff is real, but it requires a clear path to the opponent and a deck built to exploit growing power.

In Commander, Etched Slith slots into Voltron or counter-synergy builds where evasion against colored blockers is a real advantage — Skullbriar, the Walking Grave and similar commanders that care about counters are natural homes. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest; a 1/1 that needs repeated unblocked attacks to grow can't keep pace with those formats' velocity. Modern is legal but irrelevant — there are simply better threats at every point on the curve. Etched Slith is a Commander card, full stop, and even there it competes for a slot only in decks that specifically reward +1/+1 counter accumulation.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Etched Slith is deep bulk — easy to pick up in any trade binder or as a throw-in. Don't expect the price to move; the card has a narrow enough home that demand will never push it out of the bulk bin.
