Endling card art
Endling packs menace, deathtouch, undying, and a -1/-1 counter outlet onto a single three-mana body — that's four distinct abilities Mairsil, the Pretender can cage and activate for free. Mairsil is the best home for Endling by a wide margin, and in that shell it's close to mandatory.

Endling is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but its home is Commander and almost nowhere else. In 60-card formats, a 2/2 for three with a pile of activated abilities competes against faster, more linear threats and rarely makes the cut. Commander is where Endling earns its slot: the cage mechanic of Mairsil, the Pretender turns every ability into a repeatable resource, and multiplayer's longer game gives you time to set up the engine. Outside of Mairsil builds, Endling is fringe — playable in black goodstuff as a deathtouch blocker, but not a priority.

Price Context

Current price

$0.33 bulk tier

At $0.33, Endling is bulk — easy to pick up as a four-of for Mairsil lists or a throw-in trade. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless Mairsil sees a sudden spike in popularity.
