Enchantment Alteration moves any Aura from one legal target to another for a single blue mana — a surgical reattachment that can save a key equipment-targeting Aura or strand an opponent's enchantment on a useless permanent. Outside of narrow Aura-matters builds, that effect isn't worth a card slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Enchantment Alteration is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but demand is thin across all of them. In Commander it sees fringe play in Aura-focused decks — Bruna, Light of Alabaster being the clearest home — where redirecting your own Auras around blockers or protecting them from removal has genuine upside. Legacy and Vintage offer the raw power level where a one-mana instant can matter, but Enchantment Alteration is too conditional to earn a slot in competitive lists. Pauper is its most plausible home outside Commander, where Aura strategies are real and card efficiency is at a premium.

Price Context
Current price
$0.89 bulk tier
At $0.89, Enchantment Alteration sits at the high end of bulk — low enough that price is never the reason to leave it out, but the ceiling is low given how narrow the card is. Don't expect it to move; demand is too format-restricted to push it higher.
