Emrakul's Evangel converts a board of small creatures into 3/2 Eldrazi Horror tokens at instant speed — the moment it matters most is when your tokens are about to be wiped anyway. The cost is real: you sacrifice the creatures you're transforming, so this card demands either redundancy or a deck built to exploit the sacrifice itself.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |

| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Emrakul's Evangel actually lives — token strategies are ubiquitous in the format, and the ability to convert a wide board of 1/1s into 3/2 Eldrazi Horrors on your attack step rewards the sacrifice-value decks that already want this effect. In Modern and Pioneer, the card is legal but competitively invisible; the three-mana body and sorcery-speed restriction on building the token board make it too slow against those formats' threat density. Legacy and Vintage are even less hospitable — Emrakul's Evangel has no business being anywhere near those tables. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander dynamic at a smaller game size, where the token payoff can be relevant if the planeswalker supports it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Emrakul's Evangel is pure bulk — you pick it up without thinking about the price. Demand is narrow enough that it's unlikely to move unless a high-profile Commander deck pushes Eldrazi token synergies into the spotlight.
