Elvish Clancaller is a two-mana lord that pumps every Elf you control while sitting on a tutor stapled to its own body — six mana to fetch another copy straight onto the battlefield. The activated ability is slow, but the floor of +1/+1 to your whole board on turn two makes it an auto-include in any serious Elf tribal build.

In Commander, Elvish Clancaller earns its slot in any Elf tribal shell — Lathril, Blade of the Elves, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, and Rhys the Redeemed all want the static buff, and the tutor ability can fetch a second copy to stack the bonus. Modern Elf decks run it as a one- or two-of specifically for the tutor line, since finding the fourth lord at the right moment can close games that stall. In Pioneer the card sees fringe play in Elf strategies, though the format's faster threats compete for the same slots. Legacy is too hostile an environment for a fragile two-drop with a six-mana activated ability, so Elvish Clancaller rarely sees serious play there despite being legal.
