Elgaud Inquisitor enters with a lifelink token and leaves another one behind when it dies — four toughness worth of lifelink bodies for four mana. The rate is unexciting on its own, but in sacrifice loops with Nim Deathmantle the repeated death triggers become an engine.

Elgaud Inquisitor is a Commander card through and through — the sacrifice and token synergies it enables are too slow and low-impact for Legacy, Vintage, or Modern, where a four-mana 2/4 with no immediate board-breaking effect simply doesn't compete. Pauper is its only non-Commander home worth considering, and even there the rate is marginal against dedicated token or lifegain commons. In Commander, Elgaud Inquisitor finds its niche in white-black sacrifice and lifegain shells that want repeated death triggers on a budget.

Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Elgaud Inquisitor is deep bulk — you'll find copies in bulk bins long before you need to buy one. That price is stable because demand is narrow and supply is high; don't expect movement in either direction.
