Eldrazi Obligator steals any creature at instant speed for three mana, then swings with it — that's a removal spell, a threat, and a combat trick stapled together. In Commander, Eldrazi Obligator punches above its cost — instant-speed Act of Treason effects are rare, and taking a table threat to kill another player's blocker or redirect combat damage is exactly the kind of political tool red wants more of. In Modern and Pioneer, it's a fringe role-player in Eldrazi Tron and colorless aggro shells where the three-colorless activation costs nothing extra, but Ramp mirrors rarely need Act of Treason effects badly enough to justify a creature slot.
