Eiganjo Uprising card art
Eiganjo Uprising puts a pile of Samurai tokens onto the battlefield scaled to how many creatures you already control — the more developed your board, the more it snowballs. The cost is that it does nothing without an existing board presence, which makes it a dead draw when you're behind. In Raiyuu, Storm's Edge decks that attack early and often, the ceiling is high enough to run it without hesitation.

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge triggers on solo attackers, which means Eiganjo Uprising's token flood directly enables repeated extra-combat chains — more Samurai tokens means more eligible attackers for future turns.

Aurelia, the Law Above

Aurelia, the Law Above

19.1% of decks · synergy 0.18

Aurelia, the Law Above rewards wide Soldier and Warrior boards with counters and extra combats, and Eiganjo Uprising dumps enough tokens in one shot to make those triggers fire at scale.

Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer // Noble Heritage goads opponents' creatures and benefits from having a large defensive presence, so the sudden board presence Eiganjo Uprising generates both protects you and keeps the goad engine relevant.

Eiganjo Uprising is a Commander card through and through — the token count scales with a developed multiplayer board in ways that simply don't translate to 1v1 formats where your creature count rarely climbs high enough to justify six mana. In Modern and Pioneer it's legal but outclassed; token strategies in those formats want lower curves and more consistent payoffs than a top-end sorcery. Legacy and Vintage have the raw power to make six-mana sorceries feel painful regardless of upside. Commander is where Eiganjo Uprising earns its slot, specifically in Boros creature strategies that can hit turn six with five or more creatures already in play.

Price Context

Current price

$0.25 bulk tier

At $0.25, Eiganjo Uprising is bulk — pick it up without a second thought if the deck calls for it. Bulk rares with narrow homes rarely appreciate, so treat this as a pure utility acquisition rather than a spec.
