Eastern Paladin card art
Eastern Paladin puts a repeatable, tap-to-destroy engine on the board — every green creature your opponents control is a removal target for three mana activation. The cost is everything: four mana to cast plus three to activate on a 3/3 body means you're paying a premium for removal that dies to any Lightning Bolt.

Eastern Paladin is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive play in any of those formats is essentially off the table. In Commander, the only realistic home is a dedicated mono-black control or aristocrats shell where destroying green creatures repeatedly matters — think Meren of Clan Nel Toth mirrors or green-heavy tables — but even there, Eastern Paladin competes against unconditional removal that costs less mana and doesn't need to survive a turn cycle. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient hate, and Modern's threat density makes a four-mana 3/3 with a three-mana activation a liability before it ever fires.

Price Context

Current price

$0.42 bulk tier

At $0.42, Eastern Paladin sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects its playability ceiling. Don't expect movement — it's not a card with latent combo potential or casual breakout upside waiting to be discovered.
