Earth Servant is a 4/5 that grows with every Mountain you control — a fine body in a mono-red or Elemental shell, but a six-mana creature that does nothing the turn it enters is a tough sell in 2024 Commander. Unless your deck is flooding the board with Mountains, this is a bulk rare that earns its bulk price tag.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Earth Servant is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no play in any of them. In Commander, it fits narrowest in mono-red Mountain-heavy builds — think Ashling the Pilgrim or a Valakut-style land synergy brew — where the power boost is at least meaningful, but six mana for a creature with no evasion and no immediate impact is a steep ask. In Legacy and Vintage, the card doesn't exist competitively; those formats have no patience for vanilla-adjacent six-drops. Oathbreaker is the one place a Mountain-count payoff could theoretically slot in alongside a red planeswalker, but Earth Servant still needs a critical mass of basics to matter.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Earth Servant is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. Don't expect that to change; narrow tribal-adjacent creatures with no competitive presence rarely climb in price without a reprint in a precon that spotlights them directly.
