Duskdale Wurm puts a 7/7 trample body on the board for seven mana — that's the whole pitch, and it's just barely enough to see play in dedicated Wurm strategies. Outside of Baru, Wurmspeaker, where it triggers the commander's token-generation and pumping effects, this card has no business in a competitive 99.

Baru, Wurmspeaker
Baru, Wurmspeaker makes Duskdale Wurm punch above its weight — every time it enters, Baru creates a token copy and can pump both creatures, turning a vanilla seven-drop into a board-flooding threat that demands an immediate answer.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Duskdale Wurm is a Baru, Wurmspeaker deck inclusion and almost nothing else — seven mana for a 7/7 with trample is acceptable rate, but any competitive pod will have better things happening by turn five. In Pauper it's legal but irrelevant; the format moves too fast for a top-of-curve vanilla creature with no enters-the-battlefield effect. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for obvious reasons. The honest home for Duskdale Wurm is casual Wurm tribal, where the Wurm subtype does real work and the trample at least guarantees it hits.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Duskdale Wurm is deep bulk — pick it up in a common box or throw it in a trade binder filler slot. Bulk rares with narrow tribal applications don't appreciate, so grab it when you need it and don't think twice about the cost.
