Dune Beetle

Dune Beetle is a vanilla 1/4 for two mana, and that statline simply doesn't clear the bar in any format where other options exist. In Commander, a two-mana creature needs to generate value, enable a combo, or protect a strategy — Dune Beetle does none of those things. In Pauper, where efficient commons define the format, a vanilla body with no enters-the-battlefield effect and no keywords is unplayable. Legacy and Vintage don't register it at all. The only format where Dune Beetle could theoretically see play is a limited environment, and even there it's a late pick that fills out a defensive curve at best.
