Dreadfeast Demon card art
Dreadfeast Demon snowballs a board state fast — sacrifice a creature on your end step, get a 6/6 flying demon token, repeat — making it one of the most explosive self-perpetuating threats in black. The cost is real: you need a steady sacrifice outlet and a creature to feed it every turn, or the chain breaks.

Commander is where Dreadfeast Demon lives. Black sacrifice commanders — Prossh, Skyraider of Kher; Teysa Karlov; Diabolic Intent shells — generate the creature flow to keep the end-step trigger live indefinitely, turning one Demon into a full board within a few rotations. Competitive non-rotating formats like Legacy and Vintage have access to faster, more consistent engines, so Dreadfeast Demon doesn't see meaningful play there. Modern and Pioneer are theoretically legal, but a six-mana do-nothing-until-end-step creature can't compete with the format's tempo demands.

Pricing data for Dreadfeast Demon isn't currently available in our index — check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number. Given the card's clear Commander appeal and relative obscurity, it's worth picking up if you see it reasonably priced before a sacrifice-themed deck brings wider attention to it.
