Dread Charge gives your entire attacking force fear for a turn — every creature becomes unblockable except by artifacts and black creatures — at the cost of a single black mana at sorcery speed. If your board is wide and your opponents aren't running black, this ends games.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Dread Charge is a one-shot alpha-strike enabler: slam it the turn you have lethal on board and watch blockers become irrelevant against three opponents simultaneously. It's narrowest in black-heavy metas where fear loses most of its teeth, and sharpest in token or go-wide decks that can spread damage across multiple players in one swing. Legacy and Vintage both have it on the legal list, but neither format has any interest in a sorcery-speed combat trick that does nothing to the board state outside of combat. Stick to Commander, where the multiplayer math turns fear into a reliable finisher.

Price Context
Current price
$0.75 bulk tier
At $0.75, Dread Charge sits in bulk rare territory — low enough that the buy-in is trivial for any black aggro or token build that can use it. Don't expect the price to move; it's a narrow card with a narrow home, and supply will keep it cheap.
