Draugr Recruiter puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature and creates a tapped Treasure when that creature dies — a two-for-one trigger that turns any sacrifice outlet into a value engine. The cost is a four-mana 2/3 body that does nothing until something dies, so it earns its slot only in decks that are already killing creatures on purpose, not as a standalone threat. Coretapper and similar counter-hungry artifacts make Recruiter look better than it otherwise would.

Draugr Recruiter is a Commander card through and through — the four-mana investment only pays off over multiple turns of sacrifice activity, which is exactly what 100-card singleton games reward. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, it's too slow and too dependent on a board state to compete with dedicated sacrifice payoffs that cost half as much. Pauper is where the floor is real: at common, Draugr Recruiter shows up in grindier black sacrifice shells that can actually chain its trigger across a long game. Legacy and Vintage have no use for it — the power level gap is enormous.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Draugr Recruiter is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a commons box rather than buy. Draugr Recruiter will stay at this price tier indefinitely; it sees no competitive play and fills a narrow niche in Commander, so there's no demand pressure to move it.
