Drastic Revelation refills your hand with seven cards — then makes you discard all but three, turning it into a chaotic wheel effect that lives or dies by what you do with the discarded four. Run it in decks that want cards in the graveyard or have payoffs for discarding, and it's gas; run it anywhere else and you've traded your hand for a coin flip.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Drastic Revelation is a Commander card through and through — the singleton format's variance tolerance and graveyard synergy density make the discard clause a feature rather than a bug. In Reanimator, madness, or hellbent shells it functions as a turbo-wheel, loading the yard while keeping the three cards you need most. Legacy and Vintage have legal access to it but far cleaner draw spells exist at every price point, so it never sees competitive play there. Oathbreaker can support it in the right shell, but the smaller starting hand size makes the three-card ceiling hurt more.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Drastic Revelation sits firmly in bulk territory and is unlikely to climb without a high-profile Commander reprint or sudden spike in graveyard-combo popularity. It's a safe pickup at this price for any deck that wants it — just don't expect the market to care.
