Dragonloft Idol gives every dragon you control +1/+1 and flying as long as you control a dragon — a meaningful anthem that also patches flying gaps in ground-bound dragon builds. The three-mana artifact cost is cheap enough that it rarely feels like a tempo loss, but it's a do-nothing body without a dragon already on board.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| oathbreaker | legal |
Dragonloft Idol is essentially a Commander card — dragon tribal lives there, and that's the only context where this card earns a slot. In Commander, it slots cleanly into any dragon-heavy build as cheap, redundant anthem coverage that also fixes flying for ground dragons. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer are all technically legal formats, but dragon tribal is either nonexistent or not interested in a three-mana artifact that requires a dragon in play to do anything; this card will never see competitive play in those formats. Oathbreaker shares Commander's casual dragon-tribal appeal and is the one other format where it could realistically appear.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Dragonloft Idol is pure bulk — you're picking it out of a commons box or grabbing a playset for less than a dollar. Bulk dragon tribal pieces at this price point don't appreciate; pick it up because the effect fits your deck, not because the copy in your binder is going anywhere.
